— ABOUT —

Binary code: ones and zeros. The DNA of our digital age. In this code, the number one (1) is a symbol for an on-switch.

On November 11, 2011, or 11.11.11-the maximum number of 1’s in a date until next century- this would be the digital equivalent of "all on."

We are claiming the symbolic power of this date to ask the people of the earth to power down all digital devices, for 11 minutes at 11pm (in their respective time zones.)

At 11:11PM, we power back on.

The intent is to not merely give our resources and environment a break, but signal to the world that we are committed to developing renewable energy systems in our lifetime. Consider it a moment of digital silence, followed by a renewed sense of resolve to make the world a more livable place.

Power down, and power on our shared commitment to energy renewal.
